Toxvas
KeshavXDev
An offline canvas for Mac where every card is a plain Markdown file in a folder you own.
About Toxvas
Toxvas is a local-first workspace canvas for the Mac. Boards hold cards whose bodies are real Markdown — headings, lists, tables, quotes and code fences render in place — plus voice notes and file attachments. Everything lives in a folder you choose: one .md file per card, a board layout per canvas, and a spec that documents the format. Search runs offline on an FTS5 index over the whole folder, and any agent that can run a shell can read and write the board with the app closed. $9 one-time during early access, with a free 7-day trial and no account.
Key Features
Markdown cards on a canvas
Boards hold cards whose bodies are real Markdown — headings, lists, tables, quotes and code render in place, and the frontmatter stays editable in any editor.
A folder, not a database
One .md file per card plus boards/, attachments/ and a written spec. Open it in Finder, keep it in Git, delete the app and keep the notes.
Voice and files on the board
Press, talk, release — a voice note lands in attachments/ like any other file. Drop photos, PDFs or anything else straight onto the board.
Offline folder-wide search
FTS5 indexes every card file locally, so search answers with the network off — and any shell-running agent can read and write the board via JSON commands.
